Socialist Realism as Cancel Culture for the Bulgarian Scenographic Practice

The paper presents some emblematic examples from Bulgarian theatrical history, in which the culture of rejection has been ruthlessly applied even to artists loyal regime. One most significant ones is with scenographer Svetoslav Genev. For first time history theatre, a set designer became managing director. He rose this position thanks his personal qualities and ambition as well strong Communist connections family had. During period directorship, he created one impressive designs for theatre performance, rejecting Socialist Realism an official method arts.
